THE political focus switches from west to east this weekend.
The media's attention has been on Blackpool which has been hosting the Labour Party Conference over the last few days.
However, Scarborough takes up the baton from tomorrow when the UK Independence Party holds its annual conference at the Spa Centre. Members of the public are welcome to hear speakers who include director of the Metric Martyrs campaign, Neil Herron, and editor of the Scotsman, Bill Jamieson.
UK Independence MEPs Jeffrey Titford and Nigel Farage will also be present along with new leader-elect Roger Knapman, Henrik Dahlsson of the Team alliance, based in Brussels, and Gibraltarian Miguel Brufa de Melgarejo.
The conference dinner tomorrow night will be addressed by Yorkshireman and former England cricketer Fred Truman.
Events planned on Sunday are restricted to party members.
