A PENSIONER was mugged on the way home from a chip shop in Stockton.
The 68-year-old woman was returning to her home in Suffolk Street from the shop in Windsor Road when the thief pounced.
He snatched her bag, knocking her to the ground in the process. She was uninjured but shocked by the attack.
He then ran off towards the town centre with the bag, which contained only a few pounds in cash and the pensioner's glasses.
The thief was white, between 18 and 20, with mousy hair and was wearing a stone-coloured jacket and light trousers.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 2.55pm on Tuesday, September 24, is asked to call PC John Jenkinson on (01642) 302226.
