FIELD WALK: A three-and-a-half-mile field walk which skirts Waldridge Fell on the way to Kimblesworth will start from the car park of the Red Lion, Plawsworth, at 11am on Sunday.

HEALTHCARE MEETING: The annual conference of the Durham and Chester-le-Street NHS Primary Care Trust will be held at the Riverside on Tuesday.
FOLK NIGHT: Beamish Mary Folk Club will be entertained by Steve and Kirstie Nobels at 8.30pm on Wednesday, in the Beamish Mary Inn, No Place, near Stanley.
POETRY SKILLS: Year six pupils at Pelton Junior School have compiled an anthology of 100 poems called Poetry Pie: an Anthology of 100 poems.
HARVEST SERVICE: Christ Church, in Lumley, will hold its harvest services at 8am, 9.30am and 6pm on Sunday.
CONSERVATION AWARD: Richard Graham, of Chester-le-Street, will work on the South Africa Hidden Species Project after receiving an Earthworks Millennium Award.
FUNDS BOOST: Regulars of the Market Tavern have raised £100 for Children with Leukaemia.
