Tow Law Bass League
The race for the Captain's League title is very tight with Stanley Earl Derby and Newhouse Club sharing the top spot with ten points each. However Esh Stag's Head and Tow Law New Market A are just a point behind, wqith the Market having one game in hand of the leaders and the Stag's having two.
The remainder of the points and positions are 5th Tow Law Cattle Mart 8 points; 6 equal Hamilton Row Black Horse and Tow Law Station 6 each; 8 equal Tow Law New Market B, Esh McKennas and Sunniside Moss Inn 5 each; 11 equal Tow Law Rose and Crown and Sunniside Comedian 4 each; 13 equal Cornsay Royal Oak and Tow Law Dan's Castle.
Tow Law New Market A have moved into a strong position in the overall table for they lead Newhouse Club by one point with a match in hand. Hamilton Row take up third place, six points adrift of Newhouse Club but one point ahead of Tow Law Cattle Mart.
Willington League
Willington Club crushed the visiting Willington Black Horse Tavern in a top of the table clash to go three points clear at the top, whilst sending their visitors down to fourth place. Hunwick Joiners Arms are in second place, two points ahead of Willington Burn, who have a match in hand and a point lead over the Tavern.
Willington Club had singles wins from Colin Walker, Steve Hutchinson, Michael Irwin and Joe Blakey, whilst the Tavern replied with wins from Paul Allchurch and Joe Davies. However the Club then took over and took all three doubles points through Paul Tulip with Steve Hutchinson, Michael Irwin with Colin Walker and Arthur Goldsborough with Joe Blakey. To complete a fine night, Willington Club added the team game.

Crook Ladies League
Itop match of the week Crook Travellers Rest came through to a three points home win over Crook Jelly's Bar B to move above their visitors in the race for the runners-up spot. Even at this early stage of the season, Crook Queen's Head A, who were without a match have established a thirty points lead and look certainties for the Championship.
Tow Law New Market B are in second place with a two points advantage over the Travellers Rest, who moved two points ahead of Jelly's B when they took the singles 5-1 and the doubles 2-1 before dropping the team game.
The leading individual scorers were Debra Stephenson 140 for the New Market A, Kay Brennan 132 and Hazel Hogarth 121 for Tow Law Black Horse and Ann Varley 123 for the Travellers Rest.

Wear Valley Ladies League
The Team Knock Out Cup qualifying stages were held at two venues with one team from each moving on to play on Finals Night. Hunwick Quarry Burn went through from the matches played at Crook Bar 56, but the matches at Croft Social Club went on longer and Crook Mill House will have to play off against Howden Sunnydene Lodge to decide who will meet Hunwick Quarry Burn in the Final.
The results of the games played at Crook Bar 56 were - Round One: Crook Golden Fleece 2 Willington Brewer's Droop 0; Crook Royal Sun Inn 2 Crook Three Blue Bells 0; Crook Coach and Horses 2 Croft Social Club 0. In Round Two, Hunwick Quarry Burn beat the Golden Fleece 2-0, whilst Crook Coach and Horses beat the Royal Sun Inn 2-0. In the play-off the Quarry Burn beat the Coach and Horses 2-1.
The results of the games played at Croft Social Club were - Round One: Crook Mill House 2 Crook White Swan 1; Oakenshaw 2 Crook Surtees 0. In Round Two Howden Sunnydene Lodge beat Crook Bar 56 2-0, whilst Crook Mill House beat Oakenshaw 2-1.
