DAVID Duffy's grandchildren will be in for a special Christmas after he won £250 in The Northern Echo's Bingo Daily Lucky Numbers competition.
Mr Duffy, 53, from Ferryhill, County Durham, matched the number on his bingo card with one printed in the newspaper and called the freephone number to claim his prize.
The grandfather-of-three, who has his Northern Echo delivered every day by Ferryhill newsagent W & J Stoker, was delighted when his number came up.
He said: "I was over the moon. It'll take the pressure off Christmas for me."
Mr Duffy has three daughters and three grandchildren - Danni, seven, Ami, five, and Stephen, aged two.
Every day Lucky Numbers will be printed in The Northern Echo alongside the bingo numbers.
Anyone who matches the number on their bingo card with the one printed should call the freephone number between 9.30am and 10.30am to be in with a chance of winning. Readers can continue to play the main game for the rest of the week to try to win a share of the full house prize.
Each bingo card has ten game grids, which means readers can play the game into November with the chance of winning £10,000.
All winners' names will be featured in the paper.
