A doctor and his wife were taken by surprise when their baby was born in the back of an ambulance.
Caroline Taylor, 34, thought she had plenty of time to get to hospital when she went into labour - but baby Amelia did not want to wait.
Paramedic Paul Jackson, 48, and trainee emergency medical technician Natalie Wilson, 26, were taking Mrs Taylor to York District Hospital.
Miss Wilson, who has only been in the Ambulance Service for two months, said: "During training, we were told it would be very unlikely we would ever have to deliver a baby, so I was a little nervous."
She asked Paul to pull over, and Amelia, who was 7lb 14oz, was born with the ambulance parked at the side of the road.
Amelia is now home in South Duffield, near Selby, North Yorkshire, with her brother James, five, and sister Charlotte, one.
Her GP father, Andy, 37, said: "Amelia's our third child and everything seemed to be going to plan."
