A 15-year-old girl reported missing from home, having not been seen since Tuesday morning, has turned up after concern grew over her whereabouts.
Police said yesterday that Chantelle Reid, the subject of a public appeal when she failed to return to her family home in Newcastle, by Thursday, has been found safe and well. Chantelle, from the Walker area, was said to have been a frequent visitor to Durham.
US FOLK: US folk duo Steve and Kristi Nebel will be performing at Croxdale Folk Club, held in the Daleside Arms, in Croxdale, on Tuesday, at 8.30pm. The musicians play a mixture of American and Alaskan music. Admission is £2.

GARDENS RE-OPENED: The popular Winter Gardens in Sunderland have re-opened after being closed while workers repaired cosmetic strips covering parts of the building's frame.

EXTENSION PLAN: Durham City Council is being asked to grant planning permission for a single-storey pitched roof to be built at the back of a house in John Street North, Meadowfield.
TABLE SALE: A table top sale will be held today in St Aidan's Church Hall, Framwellgate Moor, Durham, between 10am and noon. Admission is free.
