Bishop Auckland manager Brian Honour blasted his absent players after bowing out of the FA Trophy at Lincoln United.

Bishops lost 4-3, but Honour only had 12 players in his squad for the game, two of them goalkeepers, and he was unhappy with two players, Kraig Wilkinson and Robert Kent, who didn't show.

"The pair of them really let everybody down," he said. "I spoke to Kraig on Thursday night, and he told us that he would play, but he didn't let anybody know that he wasn't going to play until midday on Saturday. He didn't even ring me.

"I don't mind unhappy players if they went to get away, but they mustn't drop us in it like Kraig did." Wilkinson played instead for his previous club Tow Law in the Durham Challenge Cup.

Bishops were level at one point, but they conceded a late goal and Honour was delighted with his side's determined display. I thought that the players who turned up battled really hard, and we were unlucky in the end."

Wayne Edgcumbe levelled for Bishops on the half hour mark when he scored after a good run, and after Lincoln went 3-1 up, Bishops battled back to equalise with goals from Stuart Dixon and Craig Lake.

But poor defending cost Bishops a replay.

"Bishops are without a game now in midweek because schedule league opponents Bamber Bridge are involved in an FA Trophy replay.

Tow Law striker Lee Innes scored four times at his side cruised into the next round of the Durham Clhallenge Cup with a 5-1 win at Cleadon.

However, the sides were level at one stage. Scott Nicholson put Lawyers into the lead, with Andrew Quinn equalising. But then Innes took control and put his side into the next round. The surprise result was Kennek Ryhope CA's 3-1 defeat at Boldon, even though they led at half time with a goal by David Christie. Craig Rolph (2) and Gordon Williams scored for Boldon.

Murton won 3-2 at Annfield Plain, thanks to a golden goal from Dean Helens, while Eppleton won 4-1 at Stanley United.

* Spennymoor lost their unbeaten UniBond League record when they were beaten at lowly Kidsgrove on Saturday.

Manager Tony Lee was unhappy that his side failed to convert their possession into goals, and he said; "We must have had 90 per cent of the play and were the better side by far. The most upsetting thing was that we got into some very good areas, but our final ball was woeful. "

Moors were in control in the first half, but missed chances and had two appeals turned down. Andy Shaw was brought down but nothing given, then a defender handled in the area.

And Kidsgrove got the winner when the defence missed a long clearance, and Steve Tobin scored.

Meanwhile, Whitby Town returned to form with a 2-0 home win over Marine, Stefan Zoll and Paul Campbell scoring. Blyth lost 2-1 at Ashton United.
