A TEENAGER has been praised by judges in a national competition to find the country's top amateur motorsport photographer.
Andrew Fryatt from Bedale was runner up in the junior category of the Green Flag British Motorsport Photographer of the Year competition, launched to coincide with the company's sponsorship of the 2002 MSA British Touring Car Championship.
His photograph was taken at Croft Racing Circuit, near Darlington, when French driving Yvan Muller had to make the long walk back to the pits, following a puncture.
The picture was chosen out of more than 250 entries for special commendation by the judges, who included motorsport photographer Jacob Ebrey.
Green Flag sponsorship manager Nick Page said: "The quality of entries was superb. Andrew's amusing photograph captures perfectly the disappointment of Vauxhall driver Yvan Muller as he treks back to the pit to face his teammates.
"It was a picture that completely summed up the moment and I think Andrew fully deserves the recognition he has received."
Andrew has won £25 in Boots vouchers and his picture will be on display at Green Flag's web site at www. greenflag.com
