CHILDREN at a Teesside school can now take a trip into space every time they enter their computer room.
The IT room at Holmwood Special School, in Easterside, Middlesbrough, has been transformed into a spaceship, complete with pictures of planets, ultra-violet lights and futuristic music.
Teaching assistant Bernard Reubens, 46, designed the room to give youngsters, some of whom have learning difficulties, a calming environment.
He said: "I've created 'windows' all around the room and painted them black with planets on them and craters. The idea is for the children to feel as though they're travelling in space.
"It really does look impressive and it seems to be having a positive effect on children."
