A PLAY which tells the story of a community torn apart by last year's foot-and-mouth crisis continues its tour of North Yorkshire tonight.
New Life, written by Maureen Lawrence and performed by Yorkshire theatre company Blaize, can be seen at Kettlesing, near Harrogate.
The show has already been taken to Fylingdales, near Whitby, and Bainbridge, in Wensleydale, and later this month will visit Thirsk, Malton and Whitby.
The play focuses on the stories of four people caught up in the crisis, including a farmer, his daughter, a pub landlord and a caseworker from the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The production has lighter moments as well as reflecting the frustration and despair. The 42-show tour is complemented by an exhibition of work by photographer, Richard Grassick.
