AN AUCTION of 'young and willing men' was held in Darlington at the weekend to raise money for an injured teenager.
Friends of Ben Woods, of Hurworth, took part in the fundraising event at the Turks Head in Bondgate, on Sunday.
The 17-year-old lost his right arm and left leg after he was hit by train on the East Coast main line in July.
Ben's family and friends are now raising funds to pay for prosthetic limbs. The Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student has been fitted with standard NHS replacements but his friends hope to raise enough money to buy him more advanced versions. A variety of activities were held at Turk's Head, including a pool competition and a Battle of the Bands.
Ben's friends also lined up to auction themselves off to the highest bidder. The event is thought to have raised nearly £400 with the man auction raising nearly £200.
