Byers Green St Peters moved to within a point of leaders West Auckland Queens Head with an 8-1 victory over Tow Law Cattle Mart.
Ian Brown led the way with a hat trick of headers.
The rest came from Christopher Pickles (2), William Dougdale, David Carr and David Savage. Andrew Breen notched the Mart consolation.
Stanhope Town returned to winning form at home to Roddymoor. A 24th minute goal from Simon Pugh set them on the way and a 35th minute William Noble penalty made it 2-0. New signing Mark Evans came on as sub and wrapped the game up.
An even encounter between Rugby Club and Willington Club ended all square at Bishop Auckland. Willington took the lead after 80 minutes but Michael Barker ensured justice was done with an equaliser.
The rest of the action came in the Auckland Charity Cup. Black and Decker completed a 3-0 win over Queens Head.
Crook White Swan had no complaints after going down 7-0 at a strong Darlington The Albion who held the upperhand throughout.
