SOME of the world's finest wines, beers and food will be on offer at a city's first event of its kind.
Oktoberfest, Durham's first international beer, wine and food festival will take place at the Gala Theatre, on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20, from noon to 8pm daily.
International food will be available in the caf bar and the guest beers will be Warsteiner from Germany, Peroni from Italy, Leffe Blond from Belgium, Kirin from Japan, San Miguel from Spain, Grolsch from Holland, and Bitburger from Germany.
There will also be some local real ales, and a selection of award-winning wines from around the world.
Visitors will be able to meet wine makers and sample their produce. There will be a competition to win a case of wine.
