FOUR actor-musicians who tour the UK's waterways using a 1936 narrowboat will steam into Northallerton, for a show next Friday.

ROAD CLOSURE: Part of Thirsk's one-way system will be closed on Sunday while workers carry out repairs to the drains. Finkle Street will be shut between Cod Beck and the Market Place, and diversions will be in place.

LIVESTOCK ESCAPE: Police spent 30 minutes rounding up six pigs which had escaped when the vehicle they were being transported in collided with a car on its way to the Malton Bacon factory.

CROSSING CLOSED: The Low Gates level crossing on the A167 in Northallerton will be closed from 10pm on Saturday, October 19, to 8am the following day for maintenance. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
