AN empty farmhouse in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales sold for £350,000 at auction.
No one has lived at Manchester House, in Dallowgill, between Ripon and Pateley Bridge, since the 1960s. It needs complete renovation and is not connected to either the water or electricity supply.
Auctioneer Robin Jessop described the sale price as "remarkable".
The house, which is in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has a stone barn and outbuildings, with planning permission for conversion into another four-bedroomed home. It has 1.17 acres of grassland.
It is understood the farm was bought by a local buyer.
