Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

New Hartley moved up the league as a result of their impressive 6-1 win against Prudhoe Town.

Daniel Wray, Gary Banks and Phil Russell each scored once and there was a hat-trick for David Copse. Prudhoe's consolation goal arrived via Tom Lundy.

Walker Central maintained their unbeaten record, but only just. After leading 1-0 at half-time the leaders ended up winning 2-1 with Scott McDonald being their scorer. The Consett consolation goal came from David Lumley.

North Tyneside were unable to improve their form and they saw themselves five goals in arrears by half-time at Whitley Bay. In a final score of 7-2 Simon Wray scored three times and others came from Phil Gray (2) and Scott Blandford and Lee Davison one each. Sean Graham scored for North Tyneside.

New County North Durham Youth League

IU17 league West Denton did leaders Consett a good turn by beating Leam Rangers 5-3.

Felling's hopes took a tumble when they were defeated by a 6-2 margin at Redheugh.

Prudhoe recorded their first win when they edged home 4-3 at Swalwell.

In the U16 league Cleveland Hall remain at the top when they ran out easy 6-0 winners against Wylam.

Their hopes of winning the championship were helped when Birtley were defeated 3-2 at home to Leam Rangers.

With Consett beating Blackfyne 6-3 it now means they occupy second position.

At the bottom Wardley are still pointless as a result of their heavy defeat at Blaydon.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Leam Rangers were without a game in the U15 league and with Blackfyne recording a narrow 2-1 win at Consett, they now share top place.

Blaydon and Beamish both hit six in the away victories at Felling and Rutherford respectively.

Redheugh lost top spot when they were beaten 5-2 by Blaydon. As a result of this victory Blaydon became new leaders in the U14 league.

There were convincing home wins for Leam Rangers, Felling and Blackfyne.

Low Fell B and Consett were involved in a 1-1 draw in the U13 and so Low Fell still remain in top place.

Blackfyne hit nine at Low Fell C to record the top score of the day.

The defeat of Beamish in the U12 means they are now minus their 100 per cent record. Blackfyne inflicted the defeated by a convincing 4-0 margin.

Whickham Fellside R take over top spot after their 3-1 win against Chopwell.

Consett, Blaydon and Winlaton are still searching for their first point after they were all beaten.

Low Fell and Heworth, the top two sides in the U11 league, met and with Heworth winning 4-0 they now take over the leadership.

Blackfyne travelled well and returned from Prudhoe winning 4-1.

Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League

The County Cup held the interest of most teams and Ryhope secured a well deserved 4-0 win against Spennymoor Legion. Paul Fenwick, Glen Bosher and David Carrick were the Ryhope scorers.

Jarrow St Bedes led 3-1 by the half-time against Redheugh, but disappointingly went down 6-3 by the end of the game.

Mullin (2) and Smith had provided Jarrow with a promising start before Redheugh hit back.

Sacriston continued to struggle to find any kind of form and lost 6-0 at Bishop Auckland.

Herrington travelled well returning from Dunlop 7-0 winners. Michael Hedley, Jamie Cornell, Nicky Langston and a hat-trick from Craig Ellison ensured Herrington's progress.

Lumley produced the best display of the day after hitting six in the first half at Meadowfield. The final score of 8-1 saw the following on the scoresheet: Craig McManus (3), Jamie Bennett, Mark Younger, Stephen Allenby, Dean Fox and Chris Yates.

Blackfyne

The Under 8s beat Felling Magpies C 5-0. Jonathan Telford (2), Keiran Martin (2) and Sam Edwards scored the goals and Phil McConnell was MoM.

The Under 9s Blackfyne Greens beat Blaydon 8-0. John Meadows (4), Andrew Turnbull (2) and Joe French (2) scored the goals. David Boldon was MoM.

The Under 10s Blackfyne Bullets beat Consett 2-0. Sam Taylor scored both goals and Luke Richardson was MoM.

Blackfyne Gunners drew 1-1 with Felling. Callum Parkinson scored the goal and Lee Murphy was MoM.

The Under 12s beat Beamish 4-0. Andrew Renoldson, Daniel Walker, Stephen Turnbull and Stephen Shaw all scored one each while Anthony Donaghy was MoM.

The Under 13s beat Low Fell 'C' 13-1. Connal Reed scored (4) and was MoM. Lewis Teasdale (4), Andy Green, Jamie Leathard (2), Steven Davison and Dean Malpass were the other scorers.

The Under 14s beat Cooper Hall 7-0. Martin O'Neill (3) was MoM. The other scorers were Lee Calvert (2), Shaun Donaghy and Ellis Green.

The Under 15s beat Consett 2-1. Craig Humphrey and Harry James scored one each and Liam Burns was MoM.

Catterick FC

Catterick under 10s played Bedale in two friendly games. The result ended in two draws, the first finished 1-1 and Catterick's goal was scored by Arron Mornington and Man of the Match to Northanial. The second game ended 0-0 and Man of the Match to Dean Mccormack.

Riverside FC

The under 8s were held to a 0-0 draw against East Boldon Cats despite dominating the game with excellent team play. They were then beaten for the first time this season by SAFC 24/7 in a close game resulting in a 3-2 score line. Riverside goals coming from Ross Holland and an own goal.

The under 9s RAR picked up four points at the weekend drawing 0-0 with Hylton Castle. In their second game they beat Plains Farm 3-0 thanks to a goal from Brett Turnbull and two own goals.

The under 10's gained maximum points from their games beating Plains Farm 2-0 and Fulwell 1-0. Christopher Martin and Danny Ryan were on target against Plains Farm and Christopher Martin got the all important goal against Fulwell.

The under 11s entertained South Tyneside at the Hermitage and ran out comfortable 4-0 winners. Jake Clarke capped and excellent all round performance with two goals the others coming from Shaun Ryder and Arran Wearmouth.

The under 12s and under 13s were both at home in the first round of the league cup. The under 12's had a comfortable 8-1 victory against Hendon with the goals coming from Kane Haig (2), Campbell Bell, Alex Whitcombe, Mark Broom, Phil Blacklock, Anthony Berry and Liam Thompson.

The under 13's were involved in a tremendous cup tie with Harton and Westoe. Harton took an early two goal lead only for Riverside to hit back with goals from David Martin and Chris Cuthbertson. Harton then had a man sent off and Simon Godfrey finished off an eventful first half by going round the keeper and slotting into the empty net. In the second half David Martin got his second goal to make it 4-2 only for Harton and Westoe to hit back with two goals to make it all square. With only minutes to go Chris Cuthbertson smashed in the goal of the game to put Riverside through to the next round.

Durham City Ladies

Durham thought that they were heading for their first league victory of the season, winning 2-0 with 15 minutes to go. Killingworth had been struggling to cope with City's speed and skill in attack throughout the first hour of the game.

Becky Welch had earned a penalty for Durham when she was brought down, but skipper Julie Campbell hit the kick wide.

However, a couple of minutes later Magda Carr put in a great cross which Helen Richardson controlled and blasted home.

Carr was again the provider when she went past her marker and crossed for Welch to grab Durham's second. However with 15 minutes to go City let in a sloppy goal and then caved in to concede another three in a very disappointing end to the game.

Auckland and District EBAC Youth League

Bishop Auckland under-18s enjoyed a 6-0 victory at home to Sacriston in the preliminary round of the Durham County Youth Cup on Saturday. Anthony Dunn (2), Chris Hutton, Darryl Hall and Lee Atkinson (2) got the goals. Andrew Fairley was MoM for Bishops and Daniel McDonough MoM for Sacriston.

Spennymoor Legion lost 4-0 away to Ryhope CW in the same competition. Glen Bosher, Paul Fenwick (2) and David Carrick found the net.

Willington won 5-2 after extra time away to Ferryhill in the preliminary round of the South West Durham Presidents Cup. It was 2-2 at 90 minutes. Robert Punshon, Martin Hopps, John Maddison (2) and Dean Hansom scored for Willington. Liam Pearson and Chris Hodgson netted for Ferryhill, whose MoM was Tony Morgan.

Barnard Castle won 4-3 at home to Coundon & Leeholme in the first round of the Lady Eden Hospital Cup. Coundon led 2-0 early on, Barney pulling it back to 2-2 before going 3-2 ahead. Coundon levelled to make it 3-3 at half time with the home side getting the only goal of the second half to take all three points. Andrew Rodriguez Vanilla, James Harwood and Andrew Smith (2) were the Barney Boys on target, Carl Thomas and Chris Scott (2) netting for the Coundon lads.

A goal from Mark Brischuk was enough to give Chilton YC a 1-0 victory at home to Newton Aycliffe in the Auckland and District EBAC Youth League.

Willington

Willington Boys under-14s had a fine 3-1 victory at home to South Tyneside in the Russell Foster Junior League premier division. The visitors were promoted last season as division one champions, and they were previously unbeaten this term. Willington took the points with goals from MoM Lewis Hope (2) and Harry Drummond.

The Willington under-16s lost 5-4 at home to South Shields Wanderers. In this top of the table clash, Willington led 2-0 only for Shields to pull it back to 2-2. Willington were then reduced to ten men when Leon Howe was sent off for his second booking. MoM Daniel Lee (2), Martin Hopps and David Jackson scored for Willington.

Bishop Auckland St Mary's

Bishop Auckland St. Mary's under-13s continued their high-scoring exploits by beating visitors Stockton West End 3-2 on penalties after a 5-5 draw in extra time in their Teesside Junior Alliance league cup tie. It was 4-4 after 90 minutes. Kyle Etherington, Danny Bell, John Dowd (2) and Paul Dawes scored for Bishops in normal play, Steve Lowes netting the winning penalty.

St. Mary's under-14s lost 2-1 at home to South Bank in the league after leading 1-0 at half time with a Michael Slater goal. The under-12s lost 8-0 at home to Norton & Stockton Ancients in the league cup after holding the visitors to 0-0 at half time.

The St. Mary's under-10s also leaked goals in the second half of their league cup tie at home to Darlington 21 All Stars. It was 0-0 at half time, the visitors running out 6-1 winners with Joe King netting for Bishops.

Darlington Mount Pleasant Rangers

The Under 12s A team played against Guisborough at home in the cup and after some fantastic football won a deserved 6-0. Rangers scorers were Mikey Smith (3), Kevin Coglan, Sean Lowe & Scott Hastie.

The Under 11s B team played in the Richmondshire Cup at home against Brompton and won convincingly 4-1. Rangers scorers were Dominic Ryan (2), Adam Swan & og. MOM, James Park.

The Under 8s A team played away against Hartburn in the league and after a hard battle lost 5-2. Rangers scorers were Sam England & Aidan Smith. MOM, Danial Turnbull.
