COMMUNION RAILS: The brass communion rails, donated by Mr and Mrs E Hough, at Yarm Parish Church have been completed. The church thanks Yarm School for help in fitting them.
COFFEE MORNING: The coffee morning held in Eggles-cliffe Community Centre, Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe, as part of the world's biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief, raised £365. The organisers thank all who attended.
PLAY AREA UPDATE: Ingleby Barwick Residents' Associa-tion was pleased to hear at its meeting that the scheme to improve the play area between Safeway and Ingleby Mill School has started. The residents' association was established last year with the aim of improving facilities at Ingleby Barwick, with the play area and a small facility for teenagers as the first objectives. Working in conjunction with other organ-isations such as the parish council, which is funding the improvements, other schemes are being planned. The association is pursuing grants from other bodies such as the National Lottery.
TODDLER SESSIONS: Yarm childminding network holds toddler sessions at Layfield community centre, Evering-ham Road, on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm, and on Thursdays from 10am to 11.30am. The sessions are open to all registered childminders. For details, call Sharon Dale on (01642) 888468
OVER-50S CLUB: The Ingleby Barwick over-50s club meets every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm in the community hall, Haresfield Way. In Eaglescliffe the over-50s club meets on alternate Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm in the Egglescliffe community centre, Durham Lane. Activities include games of bingo, cards and dominoes. Call Mrs Collier on (01642) 651187 for more details. Members of Yarm Senior Citizens Club meet on Thurs-days from 2pm to 4pm in the Fellowship Hall, in West Street. They have activities including whist, dominoes, outings and Christmas events. There is friendly conversation and refresh-ments. New members over the age of 55 are always welcome. BARN DANCE: The Kirklev-ington barn dance takes place on Saturday, in the village hall and features The Waggoners. Tickets cost £8 and include a supper. For tickets and information contact Beth Pilley on (01642) 780735. Proceeds are in aid of St Martin's Church repair fund.
MOBILE LIBRARY: The mobile library visits the Safeway car park, Ingleby Barwick, on Saturdays, from 10am to noon. For details, call (01642) 397598.
PROBUS CLUB: The Ingleby Barwick and Thornaby Probus club is for retired professional and business people who value social contact and the chance to meet others in similar circumstances.
