With the best gross score of 86 Sam Johnson also won this nett competition. Leading scores: 70 Sam Johnson (16); 75 Darren Brown (17); 79 James Patterson (12).
Harrogate and District Union of Golf Clubs
The 48th Annual Dinner was held at Pannal Golf Club on Thursday October 3, 2002.
One hundred and thirty eight attended, including guest speaker Ian Shuttleworth, freeman of the company of city solicitors who provide an entertaining speech.
Mr Bernard Meldrum, President of The Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs proposed the toast to the Harrogate Union, which was responded by the Harrogate Union President Mr James Boddy.
Pannal Golf Club Captain, Mr Frank Flaherty received the Inter Club League Championship Trophy and the third division team championship trophy on behalf of the club. Oakdale Golf Club won the second division championship; the club captain Mr Stuart Fountain received the trophy.
The junior golf of the year went to Daniel Dunn (Oakdale Golf Club) with Tim Moorhouse (Harrogate Golf Club) picking up three trophies; Scratch knockout Champion, The Jack Ogden Memorial Trophy and Golfer of the year, which is sponsored by the Ackrill group of newspapers.
