In The Premier League champions Billingham Wanderers were on top winning 2-1 at home to Grindon Broadway. Billingham led 2-0 at the interval with goals from Bobby Scaife and Bob Hatfield, but Grindon played much better than their lowly position suggested and the second half was tight with Grindon pulling one back and searching for the equaliser. Robbie Wilson and Colin Steer had excellent games.
Masons Arms are struggling and fared badly against Usworth losing 0-6 away from home.
Ferryhill came back in form winning 5-2 away to Sunderland Catholic Club.
In Division One Langley Park Rams Head turned in a good performance winning 3-2 at home to Wearmouth. They took the lead through Kevin Chadderton and after the restart went 2-0 up when Martin Coates scored. Wearmouth rallied and pulled one back but Alan Fowler virtually settled the issue when he made it 3-1. Wearmouth scored late on again but time ran out.
Newton Aycliffe dropped three point losing 1-2 at home promotion seeking Marden. After a goalless first half Tony Jinks gave them the lead after the restart.
Marden fought back and failed by Aycliffe's defence to clear their lines let them draw level and they took the lead. Aycliffe's keeper Paul Mather made some good saves to prevent Marden increasing their lead.
In a hard fought game Darlington Croft lost 0-1 away to Wallsend Rising Sun. Mark Wilson gave Sun the lead after 20 minutes and despite Croft's efforts they were unable to find a way through.
In Division Two Glaxo are still unbeaten defeating Boldon Black Bull 3-2 at home. They took the lead after 15 minutes through Graham Hammond and then went 2-0 up ten minutes later through the same player.
After the restart Boldon scored a goal to make it 1-2 and in the last period Geoff White hit a perfect shot to put Glaxo 3-1 ahead only for Boldon to score minutes later and make it 2-3 to the visitors.
Consett Duke of Wellington drew 1-1 at home to Gateshead Ex-Servicemen Paul Quinn gave them the lead only for Gateshead to level.
In Division Three leaders Billingham Town dropped two valuable points by drawing 2-2 at home at Hartlepool RNC.
Billingham led 2-0 at the break courtesy of goals from Paul Longstaffe and Andy Lurvan and only Pools keeper Ally Rae prevented them going further ahead. After the restart Pool improved when Steve Chaytor converted a penalty to make it 1-2. Billingham let Pool back into the game and 20 minutes from time Chaytor levelled for Pool from a solo effort and Billingham held out for a 2-2.
Darlington Railway drew 2-2 away to Regency Windows to move off bottom spot.
West Cornforth won their third consecutive game and move into fourth place, they won 6-3 at home to Marsden Inn who opened the scoring after 20 minutes, but Tony Rowe quickly levelled.
After the restart Davy Graham shot Cornforth back into the lead but Marsden equalised. Gordon Metcalfe scored his first goal for two years to restore Cornforth's lead, Graham, Kenny Clasper scored to make it 5-2. Marsden made it 3-5 and C Ryder ended the scoring to give Cornforth a 6-3 victory.
Wynyard Veterans stay in second place defeating Wingate 2-0 at home.
In division four Crook Town lost 1-2 away to unbeaten league leaders Oddies in a close game.
