Sunderland Scorpions are still top of the women's Premier League following two away matches at the weekend.
On, Saturday Scorpions were held to a 5-5 draw at Slough Phantoms and the goal that gave Scorpions the point came from Nicola Pattinson with only one second remaining in the match.
Slough twice took the lead in the first period and each time Sunderland drew level with Pattinson and Teresa Lewis on target. Two goals in as many minutes and another at 32.24 put Slough 5-2 ahead. Lewis cut the deficit almost immediately and Jane Price hit a fourth in the 38th minute. Scorpions pressed forward in search of an equaliser which came from Pattinson from close range.
The following day Scorpions moved on to face Bracknell Queen Bees. Lewis scored the only goal of the first period to put Scorpions 1-0 ahead. Claire Oldfield scored her first goals since joining from Whitley Bay Squaws for 3-0 at 25.45. Bracknell struck a minute later only for the three-goal lead to be restored with a Lynsey Emmerson goal. Sara Clare, a new signing from Billingham Wildcats, made it 5-1 before the second interval. Jane Price tucked away Scorpions' sixth after 47 minutes. Bracknell added two goals in the 53rd minute and the scoring was wrapped up in the 58th minute with Oldfield's hat-trick marker.

Billingham Bears continued their winning with a 4-1 victory at Bradford Pirates in the English U16 North A League. Paul Smith gave Bears a 13th minute lead to st them on their way. Liam Telfer doubled the lead two minutes after the restart and he completed his hat-trick with two goals in the 29th minute for a 4-0 advantage. The only goal of the final period went in favour of Bradford in the 33rd minute.

Billingham Falcons travelled to meet Birmingham Rockets in the English U14 North A League with only seven skaters and two netminders. Falcons gave debuts to Canadian netminder Jayce Nunn and forward Jay Haisell.
Under-strength Falcons lost 14-0.
Sunderland Commanches travelled to Telford Tiger Hawks for an U14 challenge game. Commanches proved a little too strong and went ahead through Martin Wilson at 03.02. Callum Pattison scored a first period hat-trick plus a James Moutrey effort put Commanches 5-0 ahead after the first period.
Commanches extended their advantage to 9-0 by the end of the game. Commanches: Callum Pattison 4+0, Nathan Salem 1+2; James Moutrey 1+1; Martin Wilson, Richard Emerson, Grant Sharp 1+0, Daniel Lamb 0+2, Jake Roberts, Ross Hanlon 0+1.
Whitley Bay Arrows were beaten 21-4 at Hillheads against Nottingham Tiger-Cubs in the English U12 North A League. Nottingham led 6-0 at the first interval and scored three more before Callum Watson struck Arrows' first reply. Watson, Liam Brown and Bobby Mole added to Whitley's tally in the second period as Nottingham led 16-4.
The visitors found the target a further five times in the final period.

Whitley Braves met Kingston Predators at Hillsheads in the English U19 North A League. A narrow 4-3 loss in Hull was followed by a 5-4 loss on Tyneside. Kingston scored twice on the powerplay in the first period and Sean Croft was Braves' scorer. Kingston went 4-1 ahead at 25.09 but three quick goals for Whitley from Dale Howey, D J Good and Ian Emerson pegged the score to 4-4 after two periods.
Over 150 penalty minutes were handed out in the final period which saw Braves' Dale Howey and Richard Dunn sent to the dressing room for early showers. Kingston also had two players leave the ice early. Kingston's winning goal came on the powerplay at 58.20.

Sunderland Apaches faced Telford Turtles in a U10 North/Midlands League match. Apaches scored twice in the first period through Jack Watkins and Michael Elder only for Telford to strike nine goals. Telford scored a further nine in the second for an 18-2 win.

English National League North
Billingham Bombers home match at the weekend was cancelled because the boards surrounding the ice still require being completed.
Whitley Warriors second defeat of the season came on Saturday at Kingston Jets going down 4-2. Jets went ahead in the fourth minute only for Lee Baxter and Andrew Carter to score to give Warriors a 2-1 first period lead. A goalless middle period was followed by Jets striking three goals in the third for victory.
Whitley were without Paul Graham, Paul and Simon McGinnety, Andrew Tindale and Paul Matthews: Lee Baxter, Andrew Carter 1+0, D J Good, Andrew Robinson, Darren Taylor, Anthony Markham 0+1.
