Mowden seemed to relax and Darlington took advantage, scoring two tries and a penalty to make it 17-16 at the break.
Mowden regained the upper hand and ran in further tries through Monument (2) Liddell, Matthew Barker and Michael Davison, with two conversions by Brian Riley.
Darlington never gave up and managed a consolation converted try near the end.
Both teams had a player sin-binned after a flare up in a ruck, though overall the game was played in good spirit.

DMPRFC 27 Guisbourgh 7
In a very competitive game Mowden took the lead after ten minutes, with a break by Luke Kelly down the middle of the park running through four tackles to score. Daniel Wilson pushing the conversion wide.
Five minutes from the break Guisbourgh put Mowden under pressure on their own try line with some fine defensive tackling from Mowden, especially Joe Mercer, Mowden turned over ball with Luke Kelly striding out of defence running the length of the pitch to pass to the supporting Daniel Wilson to score. His conversion rebounded off the post. In the last minute of the first half a lack of concentration and poor tackling allowed Guisbourgh to score an easy try.
In the second half Mowden's strength started to show with pressure from their powerful pack, Guisborough tried to kick out of defence only into the hands of Luke Kelly to stride through and score with Daniel Wilson converting.
Guisborough made a late surge but again strong defence by Mowden on their line and turn over ball allowed James Park to break out only to be tackled in to touch in the last quarter. Guisborough winning the resulting line out, and with the kick for touch falling short and into the safe hands of Liam Warne, who moved in field setting up Luke Kelly to get his hat-trick and Joe Mercer converting.
