FAMILIES are invited to find out more about learning opportunities at a free event today.
The Family Learning Weekend, running from 10am to 3pm, at Pennywell Community Business (PCB) premises, in Sunderland, invites people to discover how learning can benefit them.
It includes activities such as digital photography, record mixing, an Internet treasure hunt and fun with science sessions, as well as prize draws and refreshments.
Michelle Burlinson, education and training manager with PCB and the event's organiser, said: "There are a lot of people who think education is not for them and associate learning with their time at school. This event will show that education is not always serious and can be fun and sociable, and involve people of all ages.
"This is the second year we have held this event, and this time we have really decided to go for it and show families just how enjoyable learning together can be."
Similar events are taking place across the country as part of National Family Learning Weekend.
