THE skies were filled with colour over a North Yorkshire primary school to raise money for charity.
A group of children at Lord Deramore's Primary School, Heslington, watched as 205 balloons were released into the air in celebration of National Construction Week. York-based Shepherd Construction organised the race in which each balloon carried a tag and a unique identification number. The firm's managing director, Vaughan Burnand, is pictured releasing the balloons. For every balloon returned, the company will donate £1 to St Leonard's Hospice and the pupil whose balloon travels the furthest will win a prize.
