ASPIRING actors gathered for the first rehearsal of a show as part of a church's efforts to be involves the community.
St Oswald's Church, in Durham, opened the rehearsal to anyone interested in performing as part of its Welcome Sunday event, at the weekend.
It enabled them to take the first step towards appearing in the St Oswald's Community Drama Group's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which will be staged in February, or just to join in with the songs on the day.
The open day was aimed at those who were unfamiliar with Christianity or the parish, and particulary people aged 18 to 30, and to show them how St Oswald's operates.
There was a also a parish communion service, brunch and a welcome party.
