HOLIDAY CLUB: Cockerton and Branksome Living Enterprise is organising a community holiday club. It is being run in conjunction with Cockerton churches credit union and residents will be able to save regularly towards a holiday in Spain, Greece or France. SHED RAID: Thieves who broke into a shed in Darlington stole £3,500 worth of fishing equipment. The Daiwa equipment included one rod valued at £750. It was taken from a property in the Kingsway area between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Darlington police on (01325) 742124.
TREE APPLICATION: Officials at The Friends Meeting House, in Skinnergate, Darlington, have applied to remove trees from the Quaker burial ground in the town. The borough council will decide whether the group can remove the four trees in the coming weeks.
CHOIR MEMBERS: St Michael's Church choir in Darlington is looking for new members to help with Christmas services. Anyone who would like to join for the festive season or become a full-time member of the choir is asked to call (01325) 310834.
DOG STUCK: The fire brigade was called yesterday to rescue a dog which had its head stuck in railings on a Darlington estate. The dog was freed from the railings in Ribble Court, Skerne Park in Darlington.

FAIR DATE: An autumn fair will be held at Phoenix Court, Heron Drive, Darlington, on Saturday, at 1.30pm. The event includes tombola, raffles, cakes, bric-a-brac and stalls. Admission is free.
