FOUR cruise ship singers have swapped a life at sea for dry land, to form their own production company.
Colin Francis, from Pelton, and his partner, Marie Adele, have joined up with husband and wife team Tony Markey and Christine Milburn, from Wallsend, after spending the past few years travelling the world providing entertainment on cruise ships.
They have swapped Barbados and the Mediterranean as the backdrop for their work for Stanley Central Working Men's Club.
Tomorrow, they will give a preview performance of Those Were the Days, a music hall-style show featuring songs by the likes of Glen Miller, and Flanagan and Allen.
The show will also be at Whitley Bay Playhouse on Sunday, October 27, and South Shields Customs House on Sunday, November 24.
* Holy Trinity Church, in Pelton, is staging Those Were the Days on Thursday at Pelton RAOB Club, Fell Bank.
The show begins at 7.30pm and there will be a pie-and-pea supper during the interval. Tickets cost £3.50 with proceeds being given to local charities.
