PREPARATIONS are under way for the Young Musician of the Year Competition.
The contest, organised by the rotary clubs of Darlington and Northallerton, is divided into three classes; piano, woodwind and brass or strings.
More than 60 young musicians will compete to take part in the grand final of the contest to be held next month.
The competition will be judged by Ian Denley from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
The final will be held at the Liddiard Theatre at Polam Hall School in Darlington from 7pm on November 9.
Tickets, £4 for adults and £1 for children under-16, are available from North Yorkshire Timber in Northallerton, Greensleeves in Northallerton, Darlington Bedding Centre, Williams Music People in Darlington or on the door.
