MAYOR of Middlesbrough Ray Mallon can expect to face some tough questions today when he comes face-to-face with his teenage counterpart.
Mr Mallon and his executive board will hold their first meeting with Middlesbrough's Young Mayor, Adam Gallagher, and his youth cabinet, at the town hall, to mark Local Democracy Week.
Newlands School pupil Adam, 15, said he and his colleagues would question councillors on issues concerning the town's young people.
"We are looking forward to the meeting and to working out some concrete ideas that will help the town's young people," he said.
"Many adults have bad impressions of young people, but our aim is to show that we can make a valuable contribution to the way the town is run.
