DARLINGTON have extended the loan spell of striker Graham Fenton for a further month.
The Wallsend-born hitman has found the target just once since arriving from Blackpool but has done enough to show manager Tommy Taylor he could prove an asset to the Quakers.
A groin strain is expected to keep him out of the match against Boston on Saturday but Taylor is keen to keep the former Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Leicester City man at Feethams.
The 28-year-old does not figure in Blackpool manager Steve McMahon's plans but the Feethams boss is full of admiration for the former Premiership striker.
Taylor said: "You can see Graham's experience from the way he takes the ball and passes it.
"He stays behind after training to do extra work and we want to make him part of a really good team that can get us there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
"Once his month's loan is up, we'll have a chat with him about the future, but if we could keep him it would be great.
"I want to bring in another striker so that I can play Graham in a free role behind the forwards."
Meanwhile Darlington's Reserves suffered an embarassing 6-1 reverse at home to Scunthorpe's second string last night.
* Darlington will next month play host to some of Europe's brightest young footballing talent when Feethams is the venue for two Under-16's International games.
On Tuesday, November 12, England's youngsters will play Spain at 8pm with the game preceded by Germany against Holland, which kicks off at 5.45pm.
Tickets priced £5 and £3 are available at the club shop.
* Hartlepool's Reserves beat Notts County 1-0 at Meadow Lane yesterday, their goal coming from Marcus Richardson
l Exeter have ruled Jan Molby out of the running for the vacant managerial position at the club.
The former Swansea, Kidderminster and Hull boss was interviewed about the post but he will not be replacing John Cornforth.
The new manager will be announced at a press conference this morning.
