All of the players, staff and fans look forward to the derby games as soon as the fixtures for the new season are released - and I'm no exception.
Our home clash with Darlington is on Saturday and I'm anticipating a great game. Both sides have started the season well and a win against the rivals would make it even better.
All of our players were certainly looking forward to playing against a certain Tino Asprilla, but unfortunately he won't be turning up at The Vic come 3 o'clock on Saturday! It's a great shame for the Darlington fans and I'm sure our supporters will be quick to remind them he is not at the game.
Last week saw the transfer window shut on the Premiership and all the top leagues across Europe.
But as yet, we still don't know at Hartlepool how it is going to affect the Nationwide League. It will be a great shame for a lot of players in our division as they have seen a dream move to a Premiership club disappear if the window is now shut.
Last summer we sold Tommy Miller to Ipswich and I'm sure every player at the club would love to follow him to the top of the football ladder.
It will affect our level if it is implemented because a team without a big squad could see their season ruined as transfers are not permitted.
Luckily at Hartlepool we have some real strength in depth and quality in our squad. Others, though, are not so lucky.
