TOMORROW'S Scott Trial has attracted a maximum entry of 200 competitors, the biggest since 1979.

Carrying No 1 in the event, organised by Richmond Motor Club, is Alan Kendall from Reeth on his Gas Gas. He will be sent on his way by his father, the chairman of Richmondshire District Council.

Every 20 seconds another rider will set off to test his or her skill on the world's greatest one-day trial.

Two young female riders will take part this year, Katie Sunter from Healaugh and Vicky Ellis from Malton. In fact, the Sunter family are out in force, with Katie joined by her father Richard and brothers John and Mark.

There are two overseas riders among the entry, Robert Howard from New Jersey in the United States and Spanish rider Amos Bilbao.

A Scott programme, which is full of action photos, short stories and a map of the course with points of interest, is a must.

They are on sale at local garages, pubs and other outlets in the trials area and all proceeds go to charity.
