Spennymoor Voltigeur scored the first whitewash of the season with a 13-0 victory over Bishop Auckland Bay Horse.
Dean Mains, Darren Briggs and David Graham won two singles games each, whilst Andy Mole, Kelvin Anderson, Tony Biddle and Michael Craddock each won one. Andy Mole and Kelvin Anderson took the first doubles, Simon Shields and Michael Craddock the second and Tony Biddle completed the maximum success by taking the captains game.
After a good win last week, Henknowle Manor hosted Ferryhill Station Eldon Arms in the reverse fixture hoping for a repeat success. The visitors got off to a four-point lead with Terry Wray, John Mason, Steve Wray and Phil Cox winning the opening games. The hosts then won the next four frames through Steven Webb (two games), Peter Mernor and Ron Wright to level the scores. John Mason and Simon Corbridge won the final two games for The Eldon Arms to put them ahead 6-4 after the singles. The home side pulled a point closer when Peter Mernor and Jon Tomlinson won the opening doubles game. Brothers, Steve and Terry Wray then made certain of victory for the visitors by taking the second doubles game, but Steven Webb took the captains game for the Manor, making it six out of six for him against this opposition.

Willington League
After a good start to the season, Willington Black Horse Tavern slipped to their first defeat when they visited Willington Commercial and only took one singles point. Anthony Stewart won the first frame for the visitors, but from that point the home side took over and had wins from Stephen Kyle, Steven Davison, Ben Parkin, Richie Lee and Kevin Featherstone. However the Tavern recovered to take all three doubles to make the defeat respectable.
Hunwick Quarry Burn recorded a good home win over the Prospect Club, who took the first frame through Derek Peacock. The home side then took the remaining singles with wins from Glyn Donnelly, Dave Alderson, Alan McClurg, Jason Lee and Stan Wragg. The Quarry Burn also added two of the three doubles.
Hunwick Club lead the table by six points from Willington Brewer's Droop A and Willington Black Horse Tavern, who share second place and lead Hunwick Quarry Burn and Willington Lion and Unicorn by two points.

The four qualifiers for the Pairs semi-finals are Paul Knighton and Pip Samson (Crook Belle Vue), Robert Douthwaite and Tommy Ward (Cockton Hill), Colin Barron and Alan Blakey (Crowtrees) and Phil Blyth and Stephen Britton (Prospect).
The singles and doubles will be played out on Finals Night at Crowtrees on Tuesday, October 29, with the Presentation Evening being held at the Victoria Club on Friday, November 15.

Super League
Horden took another step towards the title when they visited league champions Crook B. Horden raced into a 6-1 lead, Gerald Parkin won the first game for Crook and Horden hit back with wins from James Evans, Stephen Wylie, JohnBourne, Tommy Forster, Shaun Williams and Paul Hickman. Crook then won three in a row to trail 6-4 with Parkin winning his second game, Darren Tinkler and David Stephenson adding the other two.
In the 11th frame Crook's Les Scott got down to his last ball and while studying a tricky shot ran out of time and gave Tommy Forster two visits to clear his last six balls and the black for his second win. Shaun Williams then won his second game for Horden to clinch the match and lead 8-4. Crook B won the last two frames with wins from Steve Hunter and Cliffy Owens to make it 8-6. Crook B have now played their matches in hand and are now joint second with Shildon.
Bishop Auckland had the biggest win of the week when they beat the visiting Crook A 11-3. Bishop had two wins from Warren Stamp, Mal Parry, Peter Mernor, David Jacomb and Ron Wright, Dave Baird added the other. Crook A had wins from Peter Coates, Aaron Cowen and Jim Ainsley.
Shildon visited Ferryhill and came away with a 7-7 draw.
In the Durham derby it was the A team who came out on top winning 9-5. This has put a dent in the B teams quest for a top three finish.
Aycliffe B had their second win of the season when they beat the visiting Consett 8-6.
The league has been very competitive this year and all the teams could hit the 100 point mark.

Tow Law Dan's Castle A virtually put one hand on the Championship Cup when they only dropped two points on their visit to Tow Law New Market A to move seven points clear with a match in hand. Only Ivor Childs took a singles for the Market and was then joined by Terry Taylor to take their only doubles. The singles winners for the Castle were Ian Johnson, David Craggs, Lee Stockdale, Anthony Hird and Jamie Dowson.
Tow Law New Market B are in second place following their good recovery on their visit to Hamilton Row Black Horse. The singles were shared with Chris Elliss, Barry Sims and Steve Wilkie winning for the Black Horse, whilst John Beveridge, Robert Hopps and Tommy Sloan levelled. From that point the New Market took over to win all three doubles and stay three points clear of the third placed, Lanchester King's Head.
