FERRYHILL residents have a week left to let the council know what they would like done with two bus shelters.
The brick shelters, outside the aged miners' bungalows at Joseph Patterson Crescent and William Kerr Crescent, were open to the elements.
But residents complained that there was no protection from the rain and often stood behind them when it was windy.
Ferryhill Town Council placed a front on both shelters, and put a window in each so the traffic could be seen.
But the arrangement drew complaints that residents were wary of going inside the shelters because they could not see who might be in there.
The council has asked residents what they would like to happen to the shelters.
There are four options - take the fronts off, leave them as they are, knock them down altogether or add another entrance at the back so residents can walk right through.
Forms distributed to residents need to be returned to Shields Community House by next Friday at the latest
