THE company behind a website which promotes the Yorkshire Dales, has been short-listed for an environmental accolade
Web-crafting specialist, QDK, is in line to win the Edelman Award for the best environmental website, at the British Environment and Media Awards next week.
The prize - won by the Radio 4's Today programme last year - is presented by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature.
QDK developed Daelnet (www.daelnet.co.uk) to highlight the attractions of the Dales over seven years ago.
Since then, the site has become one of the most visited regional portals on the Internet.
Director, Simon Fern, said: "More than 32,000 people come to the Daelnet site each month to learn more about the Dales, to see what is happening in the local community and to discover what they can do to keep the Dales such a special place.
"The care and craft we put into Daelnet - essentially a not-for-profit service for the local community - is a demonstration of the level of service and enthusiasm QDK offers its clients."
The awards are presented at a gala dinner on Wednesday at Vinopolis, in Bank End, London.
