Scott Carpenter, a member of Sedgefield 75's squad and a pupil at Barnard Castle School, has been chosen to play for Great Britain's over-18 team in a tournament in Eire.
This is a remarkable achievement as Scott is only 14-years-old and is the youngest ever to be picked to play for Great Britain. Scott has been playing since he was eight and represented his district and counties at 11.
He is presently the greatest player ever from Northumberland and Durham, if he keeps up his remarkable progress. He is the second boy to be picked from Sedgefield since they started five years ago. The other was the talented left hander Mathew Burden.
The last player picked from Northumberland and Durham before these two was Lee Cooke, Sedgefield's newly-appointed chief coach 13-years-ago
