Darlington Simply Lasses and Stockton West End faced each other for the second time in eight days with West End taking the game last week and progressing to the next round of the Cup.
This week however Darlington arrived well motivated to achieving a different result and by the end of the first quarter were two goals ahead.
Both teams had several chances in the opening minutes but Zoe Cooke scored first for Darlington when a free kick was awarded on the edge of Stockton's penalty area. She drove the ball hard into the away teams wall where it was deflected into the roof of the net.
One minute later Zoe added another to her tally when she drove a shot from outside of the penalty area that the goalkeeper was unable to collect.
Darlington then conceded a goal at the start of each of the next quarters as their defence worked hard to concentrate. The first being scored off Vicki Hutchinson after the ball hit the Darlington keeper, rebounding hard against the Stockton forward and fooling everyone by rebounding into the net.
At the start of the next quarter Darlington's defence did not respond as Sara Ellis ran through and scored to equalise.
Darlington clinched the game however five minutes from time when Kellie Cox completed a strong personal contribution to this game by collecting a ball that the Stockton defence seemed unable to clear and putting a well-placed shot beyond the keeper's reach.
Darlington Simply Lasses have taken twelve points from the opening four league fixtures, are one of only two teams in their division to have a 100% record and share top spot with Marton in the southern division of the Tyne-Tees League Under 12s section.
Player of the match Zoe Cooke (home), Sara Ellis (away).
