Newhouse Club, who were hoping to repeat their Championship of last season, slipped further behind the leading Tow Law New Market A when they dropped four points at Tow Law Station.
The two trebles were shared and Steven Raine then took the first singles for the Station. However the visitors then took the remaining singles through Bill Atkin, Bill Jones, John Gilchrist, Tom McQuillan and Kevin Liddle. However the Station recovered to take two of the three doubles.
Tow Law New Market A moved ten points clear at the top with a match in hand, whilst the second placed, Newhouse Club are five points ahead of Hamilton Row Black Horse.
The leading individual scorers were L. Johnson 180 for Dan's Castle, C. Boughey two 140's and S. Boughey 140 for the Cattle Mart, M. Hennigan 140 for McKennas, B. Atkins 140 for Newhouse and M. Henry 140 for the Earl Derby.

Willington League
Willington Burn went down to their first defeat of the season when they visited the Victoria Club and only collected three points, which dropped them down to share third place with Hunwick Joiners Arms.
The Victoria had singles wins from Alan beck, Alan Richardson and Alan R. Richardson, whilst the Burn replied through Gordon Foster, Tony Longhorne and Colin Dawson. From that point the home side took over and won all three doubles points through Michael Featherstone with Alan Richardson, Alan Beck with Ronnie Greensmith and Alan R. Richardson with Norman Bolam, finishing in style by taking the team game.
Willington Club moved to the top of the table with a three points lead over Willington Black Horse Tavern, who lead the joint third placed teams by one point.

Tow Law New Market B won a vital home match against Crook Travellers Rest to stay on course for the runners-up spot without any hopes of landing the top place as Crook Queen's Head A already lead by thirty points. The New Market's win keeps them five points ahead of Crook Jelly's Bar B and ten points ahead of the Travellers Rest.
The leading individual scorers were Christine Marley 140 and Evelyn Vitty 132 for the New Market B, Marie Kenny 138 for the Station, Jackie Clark 134, Norma Parkin 132 and June Barron 125 and 121 for Jelly's Bar B, Cath Hunt 128 for Willington Black Horse, Margaret Craggs 125 and 122 for the North Point and Nichola Henry 120 for the Cattle Mart.

Ithe top of the table clash at the leaders, Crook Mill House, the visiting newcomers, Hunwick Quarry Burn edged through to win by the odd point and cut the lead to only two points. Oakenshaw only dropped one point on their visit to Crook Surtees and moved into third place just two points behind the Quarry Burn.
The best check out of the week went to Julie Heslop of Crook Golden Fleece with a 111 finish. The leading individual scorers were Carol Haygarth with 140 for the Royal Sun, Rebecca Clark 136 and Ruby Boughey 125 for Sunnydene Lodge, Joan Mills 136, Julie Heslop 125 and Corrine Heslop 121 for the Golden Fleece, Diane Bromley 134 and Lesley Bolman 132 for the Quarry Burn, Susan Longstaff 132 and Diane Fleming 122 for the Brewer's Droop and June Peyrefitte 121 for Bar 56.
