Darlington Mount Pleasant Rangers: The Under-12s A team played away against Norton & Stockton Ancients in the league and only managed a 3-3 draw.
Rangers scorers were Mikey Smith (2), Kevin Coglan and man of the match Mikey Smith.
The B team also played away against Richmond and after a long battle lost 4-1. Rangers scorer was Luke Smalley and man of the match was Lewis Bleasby.
The Under-11s A team played at home against Coulby Newham and after a strong performance from the home side, won 3-1. Rangers scorers were Craig Swainston, Owen Raper and Ryan Turbett. Man of the match was Ben Turnbull.
The B team played in the Richmond League away to Darlington Albion and sadly lost 4-1. Rangers scorer was Liam Serginson and man of the match Tom Wilson.
The Under-8s A team played at home against Leven Juniors in the cup and after extra time won 3-2. Rangers scorers were Lee Swainston, Cory Aldus and Euan Legg. Man of the match was Cory Aldus.
The B Team also played a friendly against Leven Juniors and won convincingly 2-0. Rangers scorers were Aidan Smith and Joe Winter with Stephen Richardson man of the match.
Darlington Spraire Lads
Spraire Lads Under-14 B got off to a great start at Dormans Athletic when Thomas Chandler opened the scoring midway through the first half firing in from an acute angle. In the second half Dormans turned up the heat and equalised with a tremendous 25 yard strike. Spraire thought they had done enough to come away with the share of the points but with only five minutes remaining, Raper's excellent last ditch tackle was harshly adjudged to be a penalty, which Dormans put away to win the match 2-1. Scott Chandler was awarded man of the match for his spirited display on the left wing.
In the Richmond League, Spraire Under-14s put in a great first half performance at Darlington Albion, conceding only one goal, but unfortunately Spraire ran out of steam in the second half and went down 6-0. Martin Thickett was awarded man of the match for an excellent display between the sticks.
The Under-14 A side continued there impressive run of form with a 3-1 victory over Hartburn Juniors goals coming from Davison, Ward and Shepperson man of the match went to Craig Lavelle.
At Under-15 Spraire B team drew 4-4 with fellow league high flyers Whinney Banks in a great game Spraire scored through Haines, McDonald and two for Oliver. At the same age Spraire suffered a narrow 5-4 at the hands of Leven goals coming from Healey, Edwards, Burton and Butler.
At Under-10 Spraire were unlucky to lose despite many good attempts Spraire failed to find the net resulting in a1-0 defeat by Eldon Lions. Man of the match went to Jackson Kneeshaw.
Spraire Under-16 travelled to Sunerland Redhouse in the Durham Cup. Spraire were on fire from the word go and within 20 minutes were 4-0 up by half time Spraire made it eight. All credit to Rehouse who did not give up battling hard in the second half and limiting Spraire to one goal. The final score was 9-0 goals from Sturgeon (4), Grant, Duffy, Shield (2) and Groves.
Spraire Lasses at Under-10 played Forest Hall winning 10-2. At Under-12 Spraire Lasses played Barnard Castle winning 13-3 goals coming from Laura Gowling, (4) Rachel McKnight,(2) Leah Curry and six for girl of the match Jordan Atkinson. In a Under-10 friendly Spraire won 1-0 goal from Jodie Green.
Spraire Lads Under-7s played Whinneybanks Under-8s and despite conceding an early goal scored by Ryan Waite of Winneybanks, Spraire turned the game around and run out 3-1 winners.
Spraire dominated most of the game and came close on many occasions.
The Spraire defence of Joe Mount, Lee Varley and Josh Norris held strong with well worked goals by Jim Wilson Rikki Gann and Carl Brack of Spraire lads saw the through to the third round of the cup.
In a friendly game played against Whinneybanks Spraire lads won 1-0 with a well worked goal created by Jonathan Dye who turned the defender before putting in a great cross for Keenan Alexander to score. Man of the match Johnathan Dye.
Bromptom
THE A team were in control in the first half versus AWS with two goals from Pugh who was in excellent form. All the team were putting in performances in a hard-fought match. Captain David Holmes scored lovely goal after a solo run-through most of the AWS team. After this AWS got back into the game with two goals. Near to the final whistle Brompton scored an own goal making it 3-3 which spoiled an otherwise very good performance from the lads.
In the second game the A team ran riot playing some lovely passing football against the other AWS team. Oliver Lowther marked a good performance with a hat-trick whilst playing as a left sided defender! The best of these was from a cleared corner, which he hit with his left foot into the corner of the net giving the keeper no chance. All the team put in a first class performance in an enjoyable game .Other goals from Chris Holmes (2), George Austic, James Pugh 1.
The B team's first outing was a learning exercise for most of the team who hadn't played before. At half time AWS were 2-0 in the lead. In the second half goals from Metcalfe and Daniel Macfarland gave Brompton a well-deserved draw. Captain Robert Maclean was unlucky not to score and set a good example to the other teammates with his running and effort.
Auckland and District EBAC Youth League
A crucial game in group two of the Cup saw Coundon & Leeholme keep their unbeaten record in the qualifying competition with a 3-2 victory at home to Barnard Castle who had won all three of their previous group matches.
Shaun Tarling, Daniel Wales and Andrew Bellview (own goal) got the goals for the Coundon Lads, Dean Grouton and James Harwood on target for the Barney Boys.
Spennymoor Legion and Willington both had five-goal wins in the second round of the Lady Eden Hospital Cup to move into the semi finals. Legion won 5-3 at home to Newton Aycliffe with goals from Dennis West, Lewis Robinson and Daniel Lennon (3), Mark Butt getting all three for Aycliffe.
Goals from Sean Brown, Daniel Lee, Martin Hopps, John Maddison and Lee Circle gave Willington a 5-2 success at home to Meadowfield whose goals came from Philip Poulton and Andrew Johnson.
In round one of the same competition, Chilton YC won 2-1 at home to Ferryhill. Brischuck got both goals for Chilton, Dixon replying for Ferryhill.
* League newcomers Meadowfield under-18s need a new team manager following the departure of John Gibson. Club secretary David Clennell has been running the team in the interim, but is finding his dual role too demanding. Darlington Albion
The Under-9s played two games at home against Northallerton Town and in game one Albion lost 2-0. It was a good end to end game of football that the Albion were unlucky to lose.
In game two Albion drew 2-2 having been put under pressure by Northallerton in the first half, but Jack Scarr for the Albion scored at the start of half time. In the second half Northallerton came forward and scored two quick goals however Albion fought back to equalise with another goal from Jack Scarr.
The Under-12s Albion played away to Spraire Lads and a good team performance by Albion saw them win 3-0. Goals from Joathan Weeks (2), and man of the match Phil Caley
