Womens Football: Tyne Tees Youth League - Under-12s: St. Francis 5 v 0 Seaton Carew
This game was a pleasure to watch.
In a good spirited local derby, St. Francis came out on top. The goals for Francis came from player of the match Sarah Rowbotham (2), Fiona McAlpine (2) and Christina Corner. Player of the match for Seaton was Lauren Spoors, but the niggest winner of the day was the spectators who enjoyed a well fought game.
Marton 12 v 3 Billingham
Marton opened the scoring after 4 minutes and then doubled their lead after 12 minutes. In the second quarter, Marton scored 4 goals in 4 minutes, which included a 3 minute hat-trick from Becky Robinson. Billingham then started to push forward and got their break through after 22 minutes and then they added a second making the half time score 6-2. In the third quarter Billingham scored their third goal of the afternoon whilst Marton added to their tally. Marton completed their tally in the final minute. Players of the match were Laura Wilson and Jessica Close.
Wardley Wrens 6 v 1 Low Fell
Wardley managed to record their first win of the season in a close match, despite the score. The Wardley keeper made some great saves and was responsible for keeping the scoe down. Low Fell played the game in good spirits, but Wardley had the experience to win the game. Both goalkeepers, Brogan Mountain and Sophie Parish, recieved players of the match.
Spraire Lasses 13 v 3 Barnard Castle
Barnard Castle opened the scoring but Spraire equalised after 7 minutes and then took the lead 9 minutes later. Barnard Castle then equalised after 15 minutes. At half time the score was 4-2 to Spraire. A second half, 10 minute hat trick saw Spraire take control. Spraire added to their tally and then Stephanie Hutchinson completed her hat trick for Barnard Castle. In the final quarter Spraire completed their scoring. Spraire goals came from Laura Growling (4), Rachel McKnight (2), Leah Curry (1) and player of the match Jordan Atkinson (6). Player of the match for Barnard Castle went to Kathryn Jones.
SAFC 24/7 12 v 0 Blyth Town
This match saw another clean sheet for SAFC. The home side took the game to Blyth who struggled to come to turns with the pace of the game. Blyth's goalkeeper, Catherine Clough, got player of the match for them as she did well to keep the goals down to 12. Scorers for SAFC were Abby Holmes (4), Holly Taylor (3), Donna Bolton (2), Jessica Clarke (1) and player of the match Lauren Ramshaw (2).
Cramlington 1 v 2 Newcastle
An excellent game of football saw Newcastle dominate in the 1st quarter and then Newcaslte dominate in the 2nd. Newcastle scored twice in these quarters. The third quarter was evenly matched with both teams demonstrating good skills. The final quarter saw Cramlington at their strongest and scored a much deserved goal.Players of the match were Courtney Vasher and Rachel Tippins.
Under-14s
Blyth Town 10 v 0 St. Francis
The game was evenly matched in the first 10 minutes, but Blyth then took control of the match and led 5-0 at half time. The second half was very similar to the first and as all Blyth. Kate Langhorne, player of the match for St. Francis, played well in goal and kept the score to 10. Goals for Blyth came from Carol Ann Hughes (3), Danny Baker (2), Michaela Newton (2) and one each from Helen McManus, Jessica Havelock and player of the match Ashley Bates.
Chester-le-Street Ladies
As expected this was CLS' toughest test yet against the unbeaten Women's
Academy Team from East Durham. The first half saw The Cestrians defend stoutly, only to fall
behind just before half time.
East Durham went further ahead just after half time, but the young CLS team battled away and only three late goals from the academy team, showing superior fitness, left the final score East Durham won 5-0.

Dawn Linley.
Chester Le Street LFC travel to Billingham for their next away match.
South Durham Royals
The U12 Girls Royals maintained their unbeaten record on Sunday travelling to Lumley and cruising to a 3-0 victory. Rebecca Pattinson scored two goals and Vicky Wray scored one. Rebecca Toppin was given the man of the match award for a fourth consecutive time this season deservedly so for her 100 per cent effort and commitment.
Despite being placed in the Northern Division of the Tyne Tees League involving more travelling players have remained loyal to the club and the efforts rewarded by maximum points for games so far.
