WOMEN will be bidding for a PC of their own at an auction at the Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham, tonight - and they will not looking at computers.
Two of Northumbria Police's officers are putting themselves up for auction to help raise funds for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.
The trust offers care for children with life-threatening illnesses, with support at its respite centre near Hexham, Northumberland.
PCs Andy Richardson, of the Ford and Pallion policing team in Sunderland, and Gareth Johnson, from Sunderland West, both 23, were happy to lend their services to the good cause.
The table that bids the most will then be waited on by the two PCs, who will keep them supplied with champagne.
Other prizes include weekends away, pamper days and designer clothing.
Pop Idol finalist Aaron Bayley will perform and there will also be a disco.
For information about the trust contact Dionne Hamil on 0191-386 4400.
