AN event to give advice on how to protect homes from flooding is to be held in North Yorkshire later this month.
The Environment Agency is hosting a flood fair on the Knavesmire, in York, from 10am to 4pm, on October 27.
On display will be a range of products such as door barriers and special mats to soak up water as well as specialist advice on building design.
Also attending will be representatives of the county council, the National Flood Forum and the agency's flood warning defence teams.
"The flood fair is targeting those people who live in properties at risk from flooding in North Yorkshire," said the county council's director of environmental services Mike Moore.
"It is an ideal opportunity for those at risk to view the current range of flood protection products and work in partnership with the Environment Agency to protect their homes from flood damage."
