GPs have joined forces with a council fitness team to offer patients free consultations on exercising their way to health.
Willington Health Centre is open from 1pm to 4pm on Tuesdays for 20-minute sessions with health and fitness consultant Tony Pearson. To make an appointment call Kathleen on (01388) 646040.
NEW CLUBS: The Heighington Village Hall Association is looking for anyone who wants to set up a club. Regular slots have become available at the hall and the association is keen to encourage clubs to start up. Anyone interested can call (01325) 312337.

SCHOOL HARVEST: Children from Howden-le-Wear Primary School are joining in a Harvest Festival on Thursday from 2pm. Proceeds go to the Seeds for Africa charity.
HOMEMAKERS FAIR: Bishop Auckland Methodist Church Homemakers have a Mini-Fair on Wednesday, October 30. Coffees are served from 10 to 11.30am and lunches until 1pm. Stalls include cards, cakes, bric-a-brac and crafts.
HOMES PLAN: Vestbrown, of Newhouse Farm, Esh Winning, is applying for planning permission for five homes at the Leazes, Leases Lane, Wolsingham.
SECURE SCHOOL: The Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Trustees are asking for permission for a new playground and security fence at St Chad's RC Primary School, in Witton Park.
CHAPEL CHANGE: Mr A Blenkiron, of Stonebank Terrace, Newfield, is submitting plans to Wear Valley District Council to convert a former chapel in the same street into a four-bedroomed house.
GUIDED WALK: A "tombstone trail" around Darlington's West Cemetery, takes place on Saturday, at 2pm. Meet at West Cemetery Gates, Carmel Road North. Tickets cost £2 per person or £1 for concessions. No dogs are allowed.
CASH RAISED: A wine, cheese and pate evening held in Redworth raised £200 for Heighington Methodist Church and £28 for the Northumbria Historic Churches Trust.
CYCLE FORUM: The Darlington Cycle Forum meets at the town hall on Thursday, at 6.15pm. For more information phone (01325) 388652.
