A TRADITIONAL German beer festival - with input from other nations - came to the region at the weekend.
Durham's Gala Theatre was the venue for Oktoberfest, the city's first international beer, wine and food festival, on Saturday and Sunday.
Among the guest beers on sale were Warsteiner, Peroni, Leffe Blond, Kirin, San Miguel, Grolsch and Bitburger.
An expert from Folio Wines was on hand to tempt customers with different wine varieties, and foreign foods on the menu included paella and bratwurst.
Ben Simpson, of the Gala Theatre, said: "Hopefully, this will be the first of many."
