PUPILS took part in a fun sports day at the weekend thanks to a youth group's efforts.
A team of 19 young people from Kelloe and Quarrington Hill, which lack leisure facilities and youth provision, has been awarded almost £15,000 from the Prince's Trust to address the problem.
The group, called Rural Research, is using the money to provide activities for younger children. It has already held a Halloween arts and crafts night at Kelloe Primary School, and on Saturday, staged a fun sports day at the same venue.
The group's next activity will be another art and crafts night, for a different age group, in the school hall.
