DARLINGTON manager Tommy Taylor has vowed to "stick it out" following Saturday's home defeat against Boston United.
A small group of Quakers fans gathered near the players' tunnel to show their discontent towards Taylor and chairman George Reynolds revealed he will be holding 'crisis' talks with his beleaguered manager on Wednesday.
But Taylor said: "I will stick it out. I've got to see this through. I've been here a year now.
"There's a job still to do and we've got some good youngsters coming through.
"If people want to stick knives in and chuck things about I'm not bothered about that but my staff's good down here so I'm happy and I will stick by it."
With just one win from their last ten games, pressure is mounting on the Quakers' manager and Reynolds is far from happy.
The Quakers' chairman said: "You have to ask whether the players are gelling with Tommy because I think we have some good players here.
"I'm away on business until Wednesday and I'll talk to Tommy then."
However, Taylor remains unfazed, saying: "If the chairman wants to speak to me I'll speak to him. I'm easy with that.
"I'm just disappointed for the players. They've worked their socks off in the second half to get back into it.
"I just said to them 'you can't pass your way out of this division, you've got to work hard.' We worked hard to get two goals near the end but two goals was not enough.
"Really our goalkeeper hasn't had to do a thing today and he's picked the ball out of the net three times so that's the disappointing thing about it.
"The players will have to work hard to get a win out of things.
"When we go goals in front we sit back. They sat back and I said to the boys 'we made them sit back'. You put balls in the air as well and they had to go back and defend and deal with crosses. They think we're going to get out of this league just by passing - it's impossible."
* Former Sunderland striker Craig Russell is training with the club.
Russell, who spent two months on loan at Feethams in 1999, recently left Scottish First Division club St Johnstone by mutual agreement.
