As part of the BBC's Great Briton debate, anyone wanting to pick their favourite Briton of all time can vote online at Stockton library.
The ten-programme series, which started on Sunday night, will reveal the top ten nominations from a list which includes everyone from Boudicca to Boy George, and Captain Cook to Michael Crawford.
Emma Shields, community libraries officer for Stockton Borough Council, said: "Some of our libraries will be mounting book displays on the top ten and, of course, we have a large collection of biographies and history books which might also come in handy for those wanting to do a little more research.
"People will then be able to vote online and have their say in the debate."
