MONEY is available to groups and organisations in the Owton Rossmere and Seaton Grange areas of Hartlepool to support small community safety and crime prevention schemes.
Grants of up to £2,500 are available from the Tackling Crime Together Project, which is funded by the Owton Rossmere Single Regeneration Budget Partnership, but the grants end when the partnership winds up in March next year.
To be considered for funding, schemes must be aimed at cutting crime and fear of crime among residents in the partnership area, either by working with community groups or by boosting security in buildings. The grants are only available to community groups based within the Owton Rossmere Partnership area.
The grants are particularly intended for projects which will help the elderly, the disabled, young people, single parents and victims of crime.
Past grants have included money to help to fit window alarms in the homes of elderly and vulnerable people.
Applications will be assessed at meetings on November 4, January 6 and March 3.
For more information about making an application, contact Donna Marsey on (01429) 867034, Mondays to Wednesdays.
