CHILDREN'S author Terry Deary is coming out of temporary retirement to stage one of his popular roadshows.
The County Durham writer, famed for his Horrible Histories, quit live performances but will tread the boards on Saturday to ensure the Horrible Halloween roadshow can go on.
The show, at the DLI Museum, Aykley Heads, Durham City, was to have starred Ronan Paterson and Neil Armstrong, but Neil had to withdraw.
A museum spokesman said: "Terry has dredged the highways, byways and drains of history to bring a show filled with ghosts, ghouls, witches and warlocks.
"It has songs, sketches, bloodshed and mayhem - and Terry's terrifying jokes. After the show, Terry will be on hand to sign books."
The show will be performed between 11am and 1pm.
Tickets cost £3.50, concessions £2.25, and £1 for museum season ticket holders. People are advised to book by calling 0191-384 2214.
