THE first pint should be pulled and the first meal served at a new North-East pub and restaurant complex with adjoining motel facilities next month.

Whitbread Restaurants is investing £2.3m into the Broomside Park Brewers Fayre and Travel Inn at Belmont, on the outskirts of Durham City.

Situated alongside Durham City AFC's Archibald Stadium, on the Belmont Industrial Estate, it is within easy reach of both the A1(M) junction at Carrville and the city centre.

Managers Peter and Janet Ray will run the bar/restaurant, pledging value for money and a warm welcome.

Adjoining the Brewers Fayre premises will be a 40-bedroom Travel Inn, offering en-suite accommodation for £42.95 per single, double or family room per night.

The development brings with it 60 full and part-time jobs, although grill chefs, cooks plus hotel night receptionists and porters are still required.

Mr Ray said: "Brewers Fayre is a great place to work and there are plenty of opportunities for people to have a career in the trade.

"As we're open all day, every day we operate a shift system, which makes it ideal for anyone to fit a career around family commitments and school times."

Further details of remaining jobs are available from Mr or Mrs Ray on (07989) 055169.
